Larus marinus

The great black-backed gull (Larus marinus) is the largest gull in the world and a striking sight along North Atlantic coasts. Its black wings, white head and yellow bill with a red spot make it easy to recognize. It is a powerful and opportunistic hunter as well as a skilled scavenger.
