Eurasian Wigeon

Mareca penelope

The Eurasian Wigeon is a dabbling duck recognized by the male’s warm chestnut head and creamy forehead. Its body is mostly grey with a soft pink breast and black rear. It often grazes on grass like a goose, especially in winter. This species is common in European wetlands and coastal areas.
